Called to Serve

Week 34

The Bern Temple!!

Hallo zusammen! This week, we got the incredible opportunity to go to the Bern temple twice! It was my first time going to the temple in over six months and after such a long time, it was really an amazing experience. It reminds me of this quote from Sister Jean A. Stevens: “It is in the temple that we remember who we really are and see with clarity who really can become”

Week 33

No More Strangers

Guten Tag zusammen!! Another week down in Switzerland, and a week with many miracles. The craziest (which admittedly is really only crazy as a missionary) was on Sunday. On Sunday, we already had a full day planned. We were going to sing in sacrament meeting, give a thought in primary with everyone before helping teach another primary class, then a quick planning session before the baptism of a little boy in our ward, after which we had stake choir practice an hour away, and we had to get home from that in time for a cleaning inspection.

Week 32

Just Keep Knocking

Hallo zusammen!! Since both Sister Clark and I are new in Burgdorf (whitewashing), it is a bit of a slow start as we try and meet all our friends from the other Sisters and build relationships with the members. This means that we have been doing a lot of vorbeis (when we just show up at someone’s door and try and share a short spiritual thought with them, or make a time for an appointment later).

Week 31

A Whole New World

Another crazy week with transfers, they never go off without a hitch and it was the same this time. (Something to do with forgotten keys and area phones, too much luggage, a lack of elevators, and both being new in the area). But we made it!! It has been great serving in an area that is so different from Vienna, lots of pros and cons, and lots of things to learn.
