Servus alle!!
All the finding we have been doing has paid off this week with several new friends!! They are all from a variety of sources: Facebook, street, member referrals, and FindeChristus.
We got one FindeChristus referral this week that was an adventure to visit. It was for a man who was hard of hearing, so he didn’t put a phone number, only his physical address. When we looked it up, there were no addresses exactly the same, but two that matched up partly, so we figured we would visit both of them. We got out to this small dorf and walked all the way to the first address, and it ended up being an empty field, probably not right. We walked along the side of the road heading to the next address (no sidewalk out here) and knocked some doors along the way.
At one point, we were walking along the highway with speeding trucks and cars on one side and tall grass full of grasshoppers on the other for about 20 minutes with no houses (one grasshopper even jumped up my comps dress), but eventually we were able to turn down another street to the second address. It turned out it was a winery! Wanting to be sure (since maybe he lived there?) we headed inside to ask. The lady at the front desk was helping someone else, so we browsed the selection and found the one thing we could drink, some apple juice. Then we asked the lady at the desk and she said she had no idea what we were talking about and that the address must be written wrong. It was unfortunate, but we left and got back to walking another 20 minutes along the highway to the next bus stop. There, as we waited for the bus, we did some tricep dips (we are doing a competition against some of the other Sisters in the Zone) and an old lady complimented our form. We struck up a conversation with her and were able to have a good contact. It was sad we weren’t able to find the referral, but there was some good that came of it. God works in mysterious ways and I’m glad I get to be a part of it for a little longer.
Other then that, we’ve been working our tails off here in the sun and heat and matching that with plenty of ice cream.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
