Servus!!
We have had such a hectic but spiritual and awesome couple of days. From delayed trains because of people on the tracks, to missed connections, canceled busses, standing room only for hours, and going to bed after 11, it was pretty exhausting. But every bit was worth it for the devotionals, testimonies, conference, and service. A large part of that is because of our guest speaker, Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles! The opportunity to hear from an apostle of the Lord only happens every now and then, and I am grateful that we were able to hear from him and his wife. We also were able to work alongside Elder and Sister Rasband as we worked on a service project putting together relief kits for people in Turkey.
It was such an inspired weekend, but I wanted to share some of my biggest takeaways. Number 1 was the value and importance of the Book of Mormon, for missionary work and for ourselves. It is such a huge gift from Heavenly Father and the knowledge we receive from it is a blessing that we need to share with those who are searching for answers and truth. Next would be that we have all of eternity to work on perfecting our weaknesses, so just pray to God for help, and get up and go about doing good. Have a smile on your face and serve your neighbor. Laugh and make friends. Support each other physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And lastly, obey beyond comprehension (That one is from President Naatjes).
There is so much more I learned, but I will need to go back and study my notes. I do know, though, that Elder Rasband is an inspired man who is called of God to help us in these latter days. I am grateful for him, President Nelson, and all the other leaders of this church who put their whole heart and soul into serving the Lord.
Have a great week everyone!
Liebe Grüße, Sister Tripp
