Week 60-Mission Blog

Servus!

This week was a pretty wild ride. The weather swung from t-shirt to snowing, pretty unfortunate. There was also a Germany-wide transportation strike yesterday, no planes, trains, busses, boats, nothing. So we didn’t go very far.

But, on Saturday, while everything was still running, we had the opportunity to help out with a stake youth Mini MTC activity that lasted all day. We led a roleplay workshop in the morning and after lunch we went street finding with the older youth. I was blown away by how willing and excited these youth were to do some missionary work! The two young women I went finding with would stop anybody walking by, rejections didn’t faze them, and they were willing to jump right into bearing testimony. It was so sweet to see how powerful the affect of the spirit was on these girls, after each lesson they were so close to tears but also so pumped to speak to someone else. We had to practically drag them away when the time was up. I was a little nervous about the activity, since I know that I would not have wanted to go street finding as a youth, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how willing they were to practice roleplays and then actually hit the streets. The future of missionary work is in good hands when they all decided to serve.

This week has also been a little melancholic though. After interviews with President, it is pretty much confirmed that I will be leaving next week at transfers. It won’t actually be confirmed until Saturday, but this weekend is also General Conference (I am so excited!!!!) and that means I won’t get to say goodbye to everyone at church. It is also a little daunting to think that my next area is most likely my last since I only have 3 transfers left. Just crazy stuff.
