Servus!!
This week, we learned a really hard lesson. Our dear friend who was going to be baptized on Saturday, was not. She had been doing amazing – she successfully stopped drinking coffee (and the headaches stopped, too!) and did great in her baptismal interview. It was so cool to here her testimony and how much she had learned since she first got to know the church. Then, Thursday night, it all started to go down.
Basically, a classmate of hers approached her to inform her, out of concern, that our church is a cult. She argued back at first, but when he started sending her “resources”, she began to have a couple of doubts. She texted us and we talked it through. She agreed that she had a testimony and had never had a bad feeling while investigating the church. Our text conversation continued in uncertainty until Saturday morning when she confirmed that right now she felt too lost and unsure to be baptized. We were pretty heartbroken, but also we understand. It is for the better that she strengthens her testimony now to withstand those who oppose the church than if this had happened after the baptism. We will continue to meet and if you all could pray for her to receive guidance during this time, that would be most appreciated.
We still had a really good week outside of that with some awesome member appointments and some solid street finding. And now, we have learned just how hard Satan will try to stop a good thing from happening, and no one is immune. I believe that now we will be better able to help our friends prepare for these struggles in the future, so not all is lost.
Last P day we went to a small palace in Augsburg and visited St. Ulrich’s. We also ate a lot of good food and enjoyed the beautiful weather :)
I wish you all a wonderful week!
