Servus alle!!

This week has been awesome. It started with a trip to the Neuschwanstein castle down near Füssen, and that was super xiol to see. That train ride back was a mess with a super long delay and an early termination in Bobingen, so we all had to get off and wait for the next train all the way to Augsburg.

We had lots of excitement the rest of the week too. I wrote and gave a talk at church on Believing Christ (a BYU speech I would highly recommend). I went on Tausch to Munich – We cleaned the church and played real life Angry Birds with the youth. We had an Ausstellung in Augsburg. We went down to Kaubeuren for district council. We made a new friend! The weather was beautiful. And, we had multiple amazing appointments with our friend who is getting baptized this Saturday!

I am so amazed by the faith of our friend. Last week we taught her the last lesson before her interview and, honestly, we were both a little nervous going into it. We were teaching the commandments and we felt that tithing and prophets would go over easy, even chastity would be fine, but the word of wisdom might not. We knew coming in that she drank a lot of coffee, she had told us earlier that she needed it for early mornings at work. But, we prepared well with the promised blessings and Nephi 3:7 ready to give her. And it went miraculously! When we explained that she would need to stop drinking coffee she responded with that will he really hard. As we read through the blessings, she said her biggest worry is that she will be too tired but it promises that she will have the energy she needs. Then we read in Nephi, and she told us that it seemed like God was speaking to her directly with those words. She agreed that she would stop and we would all pray for her success with it. It was basically the best possible outcome, but it was only possible because of her faith. In theory, it should be that easy with everyone. Once you believe in Joseph Smith and the restoration through reading the Book of Mormon, then it would make sense that there was continued revelation through the prophets and sometimes commandments. And, as with the rest of the commandments, once you know about them, you should keep them, and God will help us do so. I am grateful for this friend’s open heart and trust in the Lord as we have gone through the hardest parts of the lessons. She has already made a lot of progress with the coffee, too. It’s really hard, but she understands how important it is and is working even harder to overcome this.

I hope you all are healthy and have a great week!!
