Week 54-Mission Blog

Servus!

This week we met with a new friend, and was amazing! She randomly texted us out of the blue saying she wanted to be baptized, very much of a surprise. We set up and appointment to meet and there she explained why she reached out. She grew up in a religious household, but never really was super committed to it. When she moved out and moved to Germany for school, she realized that she was responsible for her own testimony and relationship with Christ. She started studying more intensely in the scriptures, but chose to not really attend church.

When she first moved to Germany, she had one interaction with some missionaries, but nothing came of it. She shortly moved to another city, where she made contact with the church again through a Facebook post by a member here. They chatted a little and eventually started doing Bible study video calls, the missionaries joining in every once in a while. It eventually died down when she got busier, though. She did make it to church once though, and that week there also happened to be a baptism that she got to watch.

Then, a few weeks ago, she was reading in the Bible about how Christ was baptized by immersion and she had the thought that she should be baptized that way and that her baptism by water sprinkle as a child was not right. Her mind flipped back to the baptism she saw at our church and she recognized that we did it right. But, there are other churches that do that too, so she reached out to some of them to investigate first. Some of them were cool, but the image of the baptism in our church kept coming to her mind and so she texted us! She is already so excited to learn more and we have a return appointment tomorrow.

I am so grateful that we can meet with this friend and for all the times the Lord has helped her out in her life to lead her here. It really is a miracle!!
