Halfway!

Grüessech mitenand!

Yesterday I reached 9 months out on my mission, that means I am halfway through my time as a missionary– a very bittersweet knowledge. But I am already so grateful for all the experiences I have had, and for the opportunity to have 9 more months of miracles.

This week we had the exciting opportunity to invite one of our friends to be baptized, and she has said that she will pray to receive confirmation from God that it is the right step for her! We are so excited for her, and I am so grateful for the power of the Holy Ghost that is there at every appointment and testifies of Christ. I know that it is because of this Spirit that our friend has gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, not through our efforts. I also know that the Book of Mormon is the most powerful tool we have to learn of Christ and His gospel.

As Elder Holland says in his talk from October 2009, titled “Safety for the Soul”, “God always provides safety for the soul, and with the Book of Mormon, He has again done that in our time. Remember this declaration by Jesus Himself: “Whoso treasureth up my word, shall not be deceived”—and in the last days neither your heart nor your faith will fail you”. Studying the Book of Mormon is so important for each and every one of us. I am grateful for the chance that I have to do so and to share its truths with those around me.

Other things that are pretty cool: we went to the Lindt factory last P day, lots of delicious chocolate! We planned and executed part one of a missionary youth activity (part two is on Wednesday) and it went great! It’s getting cold so I get to bring out my winter clothes! (Not as fun for a 3 hour street display outside though) Christmas is coming!! It’s slowly seeping into everything here :)

I hope you all have an amazing week!! Liebe Grüße, Sister Tripp
