Week 37

Let Your Light Shine

Grüessech mitenand!

Another week, another transfer. Thankfully, it didn’t affect my companion and me too much since we both stayed in Burgdorf, but it did mean several goodbyes to other missionaries either going home or just leaving the Zone.

This week was pretty full with back to back appointments that were so fire. We had several with some amazing ward families where we spoke a lot about missionary work and how it is important for all of us to share the light of Christ. A lot of the inspiration for our spiritual thoughts came from the talk “That They May See” by Bonnie H. Cordon from April 2020 General Conference. The entire talk is super good, so I highly recommend reading it, but here is a little part of it that I like:

“The Lord’s invitation to let our light so shine is not just about randomly waving a beam of light and making the world generally brighter. It is about focusing our light so others may see the way to Christ.”

We all have the light of Christ with us and, when we serve as Jesus did, that light shines. But, it is also important to focus our light to better show people the way, using just enough light in just the right spot so that they can take the next step forward towards Christ.

Let me know what any of your thoughts are :)

Other fire things from this week would be:

  • going to the temple last P-day
  • some street finding in Solothurn, lots of great conversations (and we got to hear some traditional alphorn)
  • one amazing conversation with a woman on the streets of Langenthal (45 minutes!)

I hope you all have a wonderful week!!
