Grüessech mitenand!

Another week is past, but during this week I hit 8 months on the mission! Time really flies when you have so much work to do.

This week we also got another really important phone call with transfer news! And… Sister Clark and I are staying! We are both super excited to keep working with the ward here and meeting with all of our friends. Other fun transfer news– Sister McArthur is coming to Bern Zone, so we will be serving around each other again, third time ;) !

This week had a lot of cool miracles and successes, but also some that were a little harder to recognize. This week we had some time to go door to door in a nearby town trying to find people that might have interest in the gospel. The last time we did this, we knocked about 7 doors and one of them opened up and was willing to talk to us. Not bad. This time, we spent hours out and knocked 53 doors and not a single one was interested in anything we had to say. I know it doesn’t sound successful or motivating in any way, but sometimes that is exactly what we need. If this work was easy and every time we went out we found someone who wanted to talk about Jesus Christ, I wouldn’t need to be out here for 18 months. But it’s not like that, it takes faith and trust in God, it takes effort and struggle. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I can most definitely say it is worth it. The struggle makes every success and miracle that much more sweet, not to mention all the personal progression I have been able to make as I learn to more fully rely on the Lord through this experience.

Some other cool things that happened this week include:

  • going to a giant swing on top of a mountain ridge (first P-day with hiking!)
  • visiting the apartment of a potential friend only to find it sealed by the police
  • a devotional watch party with the other Sisters in the Zone
  • Stake Choir practice
  • a live devotional in Zollikofen with Elder Bednar from the quorum of the twelve apostles and 4 other area 70 authorities (this was crazy cool, would be happy to tell you more if you would like)
  • and an appointment with a friend for the first time and they invited another friend! What a pleasant surprise

I hope you all have a wonderful week!!
