Guten Tag liebe Familie und Freunde!
We had a pretty awesome week over here. Super busy, but in the best way possible. We also had Zone Conference and it was amazing as usual. What goes along with Zone Conference though, is interviews with President. A few weeks ago, he let us know that at interviews he would be testing our knowledge on the first two lessons. He expected each of the points to be memorized as well as a scripture reference and description for each point. A great idea to enforce something we all probably should have had anyways, but I (a few weeks ago) did not have all that memorized.
So, the last few weeks of personal study have been in depth studying each point to find the best scripture for it. Then in district council and while traveling we have drilled with each other to be sure we would all be ready. Interviews come on Saturday afternoon and all morning we are reviewing and quizzing each other. I go in to meet with President and… he doesn’t say anything about it! After we are sitting there chatting with him and a few other missionaries and someone brings it up. President just goes, oh yeah, I can ask you about that if you want. So we collectively go in a circle going through each point in the first two lessons and explain our scriptures, much lower intensity than I had expected. Who I am to complain about it though.
Basically though, it didn’t matter that we weren’t tested on it because we all prepared anyways. And, I have already seen it improve our lessons! As another way of practicing we would try and use as many scriptures as possible in our lessons which really just made all our lessons better. And, now we all know the lessons much better than before and are more prepared to teach them.
One of my favorite scriptures out of the ones I chose is in Mosiah 16:7-9
7 And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection. 8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ. 9 He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.
I am so grateful for the Atonement. Because of Christ and everything He suffered, there is a resurrection! He has overcome death and the world so that we can attain salvation and exaltation in the life to come. And these blessings come to everyone, the light of Christ really is endless and there is nothing we can to do fall beyond His reach. I hope you all know and understand that.
Other things: we went to a clock museum, Schloss Schönbrunn, Naschmarkt and Schnitzelwirt last P-day. Sister Nelson and I are having a great time. :)
Have a fabulous week!!
Liebe Grüße, Sister Tripp
