Week 24

Did I say Healthy?

Posted by Kezia Tripp on Tuesday, July 19, 2022

Guten Tag liebe Familie und Freunde!

Apparently I actually lied in my last email, we are not getting healthy. I did a lot better with the meals I cooked at home, I bought several vegetables and some protein, but the sheer amount of ice cream I’ve eaten this week has ruined me. It started last Tuesday. We went to Linz to play a multi zone soccer game (Vienna Zone won since most of Salzburg Zone didn’t show 😑) and that is when our exchange with the Graz Sisters began. So, Sister Wacker came back with me to Vienna and to celebrate, obviously, we had to get ice cream. Then Wednesday we switched back and that evening when we went to Institute they had ice cream pops! Awesome, at this point we are still feeling good. Then on Thursday we met with a friend and got large fruit sundaes, delicious and refreshing (also the first time we got to meet this friend in person! We’ve been meeting online for the past several months but she had been in Idaho). And Friday is when it started to go downhill. We had a morning appointment with a member where we had fruit salad with ice cream as dessert. Then we met with another member for late lunch and had more ice cream with raspberry sauce for dessert. Now I’m feeling a little sick. Saturday hits. We have ice cream with another member early afternoon before going to play Volleyball with YSA and youth. After we are done though, the Elders we ward share with asked if we want to get ice cream. We should have said no, but instead we went and got some very large ice cream sundaes, I couldn’t finish mine. Felt pretty terrible after that, breakfast Sunday morning was rough. Then Sunday evening we had a dinner appointment with the Senior Couple missionaries in Wien along with several other missionaries. And what was dessert? Brownies and ice cream. Then Monday comes and we have Zone council one last time before the end of the transfer and we go to an all you can eat buffet where ice cream is included in the price, but not water, so you eat lots of ice cream. Thankfully, at the dinner appointment that night, we had fruit Popsicles for dessert and not ice cream. But still, wayyy too much sugar. Hopefully this week goes better, or I am going to suddenly become lactose intolerant.

That was my week though, and now for the transfer news: I am staying in Vienna and getting a brand new missionary! So Sister Jones is headed to Innsbruck while I stay here for a fourth transfer to train. I’m a little nervous, but overall pretty excited for this opportunity.

Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful week with an appropriate amount of ice cream.

Liebe Grüße, Sister Tripp
