Servus Familie und Freunde!
It really feels like summer now, just constantly dripping with sweat – I might need to start keeping a towel in my bag. But summer also means that Sommerferien is beginning and everyone is out and about instead of at school or work. We saw this very clearly when we went back down to Graz for another Ausstellung.
After having lived in Vienna for about 3 months, I think I have a pretty good idea of what the people are like. There is variety of course, but for the most part there is very little interaction between each other. Not even eye contact. In Graz it is quite different. I know it seems crazy, but people will really talk to us, random strangers on the street asking about what happens after we die! Although most of them are still not interested in religion, they are very polite and respectful when they turn down the free book we are offering. We talked to many people though and we were able to have some success. And, a few of us had the opportunity to climb hundreds of stairs to this cool clock tower that had a slide on the inside (the best way to go down a mountain), so our time in Graz was very successful.
As always, there is lots and lots to do all the time. But, I found the time to read a book about being a highly effective missionary that gave some great insight on how we could better use our time to more efficiently find the people whose hearts are open to the gospel. In essence, the advice is the same that we have heard so many times before – open your mouth! When you aren’t afraid to talk to people, that is how you find opportunities to share the gospel. And every time you share the gospel it can bring others closer to Christ. But if you don’t talk to anyone, or are too nervous about bringing up the gospel, then you definitely are not going to find anyone that wants to hear about it.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week and find opportunities to speak to people!
Liebe Grüße, Sister Tripp
