Guten Tag!!
I can’t believe the day is almost here!! Only about 3 more days until I’m headed to Germany!! We leave the MTC at 7a to go to the Manchester Airport and we’ll be in Munich by 6p – and that’s all the information I’ve got so far. I’m super excited to get out to the field but also really sad about saying goodbye to all the amazing people here at the MTC, I have loved this experience so much.
This past week had been lots of reviewing before we go out to the field, we only have 2 more classes left to cram in as much German as possible. It has also been a lot of fun though, many spiritual experiences but also many laughs. I also got to attend the temple 3 times this week, twice for baptisms and once for endowments. I will miss going to the temple when I’m out in the field and the peace that it brings me.
One day this week we did an English fast (possibly after being bribed with McFlurries). This means that we spoke only German for that day, absolutely no English. It meant that my district was overall a lot quieter and it definitely made our game of volleyball more interesting. It was super cool to really commit to that much German, but it was also quite hard. There are very different levels of German ability here and even if I could say something in German, if it was too complicated the people that are struggling wouldn’t understand a word. Since I couldn’t resort to English, sometimes it was quite frustrating. It was for sure a good learning experience though.
