Hallo, Everyone!
It is the end of week two for my home MTC and that means it is time to go to England! I finally got my itinerary, I leave Tuesday morning at 6:40a and arrive in Manchester, England at 9:55am on Wednesday – it will be a rough day. But, I am super excited to get to see my companion and the rest of my district! It’s crazy how fast we have become friends.
Lots of other things have happened this week too as you can see in my pictures. For Valentine’s Day, my family made conversation heart cookies, delicious as usual.
Then on Thursday, I made a classic German meal with spaetzle, sausage, and green beans with bacon.
On Friday I had the opportunity to spend several hours with the trio of Sister missionaries serving in my area and it was super fun, it made me even more excited to get to do the same thing over in Germany!
Then all throughout the week, I got to see my deer friends, they really love snacking in our side yard – even willing to jump to take a bite off the trees. I also included a picture of my district online, although I’m sure we’ll be able to take a better picture soon.
Well, I still have lots to learn and do, but I am feeling much more confident now about how things are going to go in the field. I may not be fluent, but at least I can say a prayer in German!
I have also been able to share some of the knowledge I acquired from taking German in high school with the Sisters in my district with our daily study together – it has been very interesting watching my fellow missionaries learn German from scratch, I am both confused and very impressed by some of the conclusions they manage to put together. That, and I am very proud of the progress they have made.
My next email will be from England, but until then, I love you all!
Sister Tripp
