Called to Serve

Week 40

Halfway!

Grüessech mitenand! Yesterday I reached 9 months out on my mission, that means I am halfway through my time as a missionary– a very bittersweet knowledge. But I am already so grateful for all the experiences I have had, and for the opportunity to have 9 more months of miracles. This week we had the exciting opportunity to invite one of our friends to be baptized, and she has said that she will pray to receive confirmation from God that it is the right step for her!

Week 39

November Already?!

Grüessech mitenand!! I can’t believe it that Halloween was yesterday (admittedly not very celebrated here in Europe) and that today is November 1st! (That one is very celebrated here) The speed of the mission really is indescribable. I do know that at least now we have been here long enough that the members are starting to invite us over instead of us having to always ask for appointments, a nice change of pace.

Week 38

Climbing Mountains

Grüessech mitenand!! This week was full of very long days, starting early in the morning and going until very late. While satisfying, the work still takes its toll on you. It is worth it though, like climbing a mountain, every step forward– even though it may be hard– is worth it for the reward of the top. Sometimes climbing mountains is more literal. For example, last preparation day we went hiking around the Matterhorn (the mountain on Toblerone bars) and every difficult and steep step was worth it for the views we saw when we made it up.

Week 37

Let Your Light Shine

Grüessech mitenand! Another week, another transfer. Thankfully, it didn’t affect my companion and me too much since we both stayed in Burgdorf, but it did mean several goodbyes to other missionaries either going home or just leaving the Zone. This week was pretty full with back to back appointments that were so fire. We had several with some amazing ward families where we spoke a lot about missionary work and how it is important for all of us to share the light of Christ.

Week 36

🚪Who's there?

Grüessech mitenand! Another week is past, but during this week I hit 8 months on the mission! Time really flies when you have so much work to do. This week we also got another really important phone call with transfer news! And… Sister Clark and I are staying! We are both super excited to keep working with the ward here and meeting with all of our friends. Other fun transfer news– Sister McArthur is coming to Bern Zone, so we will be serving around each other again, third time ;) !
