Called to Serve

Week 45

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Servus! It is very much December now with temperatures dipping to around -11°C (12°F), snow on the ground, and chilly winds around every corner. But, it makes the tea taste sweeter, the lights at the market glow brighter, and it means that you have a speaking point with every stranger. People love to talk (complain) about the weather. To add to the cheer, we have gotten a tiny tree and added lights and ornaments for our apartment, and we had an amazing Zone Conference where there was lots of singing and many laughs.

Week 44

Moving to Augsburg

Grüessech mitenand!! I’m gonna have to come up with a new greeting since I left Switzerland, now I will need a real German greeting. This week has been fun, it is always exciting getting used to a new area. Augsburg is also a lot bigger than Burgdorf, big enough that we actually ward share with Elders as well. As it is with a new area though, we have had to do a lot of contacting and get to know you meetings with friends and members of the ward.

Week 43

Sister Morris and Transfer Calls

Grüessech mitenand!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, cause now it is Christmas!! We already had our ward Christmas Party and the first advent is past, so now we begin to celebrate :) There have been lots of changes the past few weeks, and those haven’t stopped. After a week being in a trio with the Biel Sisters, on Wednesday night we were able to pick up Sister Morris in Zürich.

Week 42

Life in Biel

Grüessech mitenand!! Another pretty insane week, but for very different reasons. Last week, Sister Clark and I had our last appointment with one of our friends before we quickly ran home to grab all our stuff and headed over to Zürich. It was so sad having to send Sister Clark off, I’m gonna miss her a lot. But the mission goes on, so I went back to Biel with those Sisters to be in a trio.

Week 41

Big News

Grüessech mitenand!! I hope you have all had a nice calm week, I’m not sure if I can say that I have. It was still pretty nice, and there were some calm parts, but this last week has turned some things on their heads. Basically, the news is that Sister Clark is going home on Friday. She has some health issues that need to be resolved at home – and we are not sure if she will come back out.
