Called to Serve

Week 55

Week 55 - Schloss Nymphenburg

Servus! We have had a solid week, from partying at a castle for Valentine’s Day to getting transfer calls. The castle we went to doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside it was beautiful! It was so fun to go there with all the other Sisters in the Zone for a proper Galentine’s Day. We also went out to eat and split 3 tubs of ice cream for dessert.

Week 54

Week 54 - New Friends!!

Servus! This week we met with a new friend, and was amazing! She randomly texted us out of the blue saying she wanted to be baptized, very much of a surprise. We set up and appointment to meet and there she explained why she reached out. She grew up in a religious household, but never really was super committed to it. When she moved out and moved to Germany for school, she realized that she was responsible for her own testimony and relationship with Christ.

Week 53

Week 53 - one year!!

Servus!! Today marks exactly one year since I started my mission journey with home MTC – something absolutely crazy to think about! To have spent the last 12 months of my life serving the Lord is such a blessing and I am grateful for the opportunity. I am also beyond excited for the next 6 months of continued service. This week, we had many fun adventures, but my favorite thing that happened has got to be when one of our friends of the church accepted the invitation to be baptized!

Week 52

Week 52 - Shoulders Back, Chin Up, Girl!

Servus!! This week, we had quite a few member appointments – we are trying a lot harder to get to know the people in the ward. But one of these appointments stood out from all the rest. It was with this lovely old lady that lives about 2 hours away and has the most amazing positive outlook on life. She has stage four cancer and many other health problems, but she loves to cook so she invited us over to teach us a few of her favorite cheap, fast, and easy recipes.

Week 51

Week 51 - S-s-so C-c-cold

Servus! The temperature has dropped back down this week, we are staying in the negatives and there is plenty of ice and snow to show for it. This means wearing no less than 3 lagers and really praying that there is no wind – the wind kills. Being outside in freezing weather isn’t everybody’s thing, it’s certainly not mine, but apparently there are plenty of Germans who think differently so we did spend 3 straight hours at an Ausstellung in Ingolstadt in the snow.
