Week 4

Getting over the hump

Guten Tag!! A pretty gloomy week in terms of weather and attitude here at the England MTC. The German learning has become quite the struggle for a lot of the members of my district. But, the struggle means seeing God’s hand and how the Gift of Tongues has been able to bless us all. The number of words I have been able to memorize would not have been possible without the help of the Spirit and I am so grateful for it.

Week 3

Arriving in England!!

Guten Tag alle, An insane week, but I’m sure it will calm down after this. I had an early flight out of Albuquerque Tuesday morning so we drove down to ABQ Monday. This way I could get more sleep beforehand, a covid test, and do some last minute shopping. Monday I flew to Salt Lake City where I had a six hour layover – rough. But, some kind member couple saw me sitting alone and came over to speak with me.

Week 2

The last one at home

Hallo, Everyone! It is the end of week two for my home MTC and that means it is time to go to England! I finally got my itinerary, I leave Tuesday morning at 6:40a and arrive in Manchester, England at 9:55am on Wednesday – it will be a rough day. But, I am super excited to get to see my companion and the rest of my district! It’s crazy how fast we have become friends.

Week 1

Starting Home MTC

Hello Everyone! I finally started my mission! After getting set apart on Sunday night, I got up at 5:45a Monday morning to get ready for 7a class (get up and dressed, eat breakfast, and do 30 minutes of Daily Planning with my companion). Since I am working with the England MTC and we have people in my district from anywhere from Turkey to Utah, our classes are at weird times. So I have class from 7a-10a and 11a-2p then I spend my afternoons doing companion study, personal study, language study, and safety training – a lot of studying.

Week 0

Getting Set Apart

Today I get set apart as a missionary by my stake president, that is when I will officially be a missionary. This means I must start following mission rules, so I must say goodbye to social media and other distractions so that I can focus on my missionary work. It also means I get to put the name tag on and it will stay on for the next 18 months.
