Called to Serve

Week 10

Busy, busy, busy

Guten Tag!! Wow, we got so busy, so fast. We have so much to do! I have also had a lot of firsts happen. I went on my first Tausch (exchange) with Sister Matthews (who is actually the sister of my brother in law!), I ate my first döner, I went finding at my first Ausstellung (street finding in a public walking areaa with other missionaries), got rejected many times, taught a few street lessons, missed a bus for the first time, and worked at a service project for the first time.

Week 9

Vienna waits for you 🎶

Guten Tag!! First full week in Vienna is finished, and I’m not sure Billy Joel has it right – Vienna waits for no man, especially not the public transportation. But, the craziness of getting around Vienna with my companion who has also never been here before has led to two incredible miracles this week! The first one was Saturday afternoon. We were headed to the Stake Center about 40 minutes away to watch the morning session of conference at 6pm.

Week 8

First Area in Switzerland...Austria?

Hello everyone!! Wow, what an absolutely insane week! After finally arriving in München and getting to the mission home, we had dinner together with the Mission President, his wife, and other office missionaries/ones that were leaving. Then we went to the church building near by and matched up the greenies with their areas and trainers. I was assigned to be trained by Sister Meyer in St. Gallen, Switzerland! We would be opening the area for Sisters, using an apartment that hasn’t been used in over a year.

Week 6

And We're Outta Here!!

Guten Tag!! I can’t believe the day is almost here!! Only about 3 more days until I’m headed to Germany!! We leave the MTC at 7a to go to the Manchester Airport and we’ll be in Munich by 6p – and that’s all the information I’ve got so far. I’m super excited to get out to the field but also really sad about saying goodbye to all the amazing people here at the MTC, I have loved this experience so much.

Week 5

Temple Overload

Guten Tag! Another week closer to going to the field! The days are starting to blur together – study, eat, class, study, sleep, eat, class, eat, class, eat, sleep, study….. But there are for sure some notable points. For example, in the past week, I have gone to the temple 4 times doing 3 different ordinances!! Our Elder from Turkey is a convert and has a ton of family names for us to do so we have been working from the ground up with baptisms and confirmations, initiatories, and endowments for his ancestors.
