Called to Serve

Week 25

Round Four in Wien

Guten Tag Familie und Freunde!! With transfers, quite a bit has happened since my last email. First, we went to Grüner See on P-day as a last hurray before sending off all the missionaries going home or leaving the Zone. A very bittersweet morning, but that afternoon we got all the new missionaries, the most important being my brand new companion that I am training! Sister Nelson came in and she is just awesome, not to mention she grew up speaking German at home so she is cruising.

Week 24

Did I say Healthy?

Guten Tag liebe Familie und Freunde! Apparently I actually lied in my last email, we are not getting healthy. I did a lot better with the meals I cooked at home, I bought several vegetables and some protein, but the sheer amount of ice cream I’ve eaten this week has ruined me. It started last Tuesday. We went to Linz to play a multi zone soccer game (Vienna Zone won since most of Salzburg Zone didn’t show 😑) and that is when our exchange with the Graz Sisters began.

Week 23

Getting Healthy

Hallo liebe Familie und Freunde! Another great week in the books! We were pretty busy with lots of new friends this week, which is great. Each potential friend we met with was super interested and willing to learn more! In fact, one of them came to a member baptism on Saturday after only meeting with us once. It’s awesome that we have some new friends though since most of our friends we had been meeting with have been really difficult about making appointments.

Week 22

Some Train Rides are Better Than Others

Guten Tag Familie und Freunde!! This week had its ups and downs. One of the best ups was having Zone Conference in Neumarkt on Friday! It was great to hear from President and Sister Naatjes again, they are super inspiring. I have many great notes such as: pray for the spiritual gifts that would perfect your imperfections; or, you’re never too busy, just too stupid. Yeah, we love President Naatjes.

Week 21

I'm melting!!

Servus!! What a long, hot week full of lots of street finding! We went out once on our own, then we had an Ausstellung with the whole zone on Friday, and on Saturday we went out with some youth. Saturday was for the Stake Youth Day which the missionaries led, it was a blast! We had workshops in the morning where kids wrote their testimony in a Book of Mormon, did some practice teaching roleplays, learned some Spanish, and played Volleyball.
